They look like him.
When they see him, he is called by a name he has never known through a torrent of tears and laughter. There is a slew of new names which he feels ashamed to have trouble remembering. He has to make notes about them because they are all so different but their faces and voices are all so like yet so unlike his own.
The thief-cum-storyteller finds a life he never lived; one he prays he can return to when his work is done.
